Danielle Render Turmaud, PhD

Many of us have come to believe that we are broken and need to be "fixed" based upon our traumatic experiences, mental health challenges, neurodiversity, and/or marginalization that we face. I don't believe this to be true. We all deserve a space where we can work towards the life we are striving for with understanding and an environment that supports who we are--all parts of us.

As a therapist, I specialize in womxn's mental health (all gender identities welcome--I am loudly LGBTQIA+ friendly) and trauma (including complex trauma and complex PTSD), w/ over 9 years of experience w/ anxiety, depression, personality disorders, addiction, self-esteem, neurodiversity, burnout, and more. Based on your needs, I utilize/offer EMDR, IFS/parts work, somatic therapies, mindfulness practices, narrative therapy, art therapy practices and creative approaches, cognitive therapies, and more.  I have a PhD in Counseling, a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, am a Professional Counselor Associate in Oregon, am an Expert Blog Author on the Topic of Trauma, an international speaker/presenter on the topics of trauma and mental health, and have several years of experience as an instructor/professor of master's counseling students.

As a therapist who has specializes in complex trauma and has been working with victims/survivors around the world in various capacities since 2012, I have seen that hope is possible, even amidst/after the most challenging circumstances. There is hope. If you are seeking support in your journey, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to see how I can be a support to you in your journey!

Identity in Motherhood Therapy Group

Motherhood brings many changes, including shifts in who we are/how we see ourselves. This *ONLINE* 8-week therapy group (next group starting Sept. 29th) is for those who identify as expectant mothers, new mothers, or mothers of young children/children at home trying to find their identity amidst the busyness of parenthood. Whether you are an expectant mother who is worried about losing herself in parenthood, a mother who wants to feel more grounded and connected to your identity, or a mother who is questioning “Who am I?”, this therapy group is for you. We will explore identity in motherhood, factors in parenthood that can lead to challenges in self-connection, who you want to be in this season of your life, and how to get there. And, all this exploration and work will be done together, in a space with other mothers who understand what this journey is like.

When: Mondays from 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m. (Starting Monday, Sept. 29th; 8-week, outside of holiday weeks)

Cost: $45 per group session (Sliding scale available if needed)

This group is trauma-focused, somatic based, LGBTQIA+ friendly, neurobiologically and multiculturally informed, will incorporate art/creative therapy techniques, etc.
